MP Kilak North appeals to leaders to guard Atiak Sugar project jealously

Kilak North Member of Parliament, Anthony Akol has asked leaders of Amuru district and other stakeholders to guard Atiak Sugar project jealously.
Akol who was addressing Amuru district leaders on Thursday, 14th September 2023, during a visit to the project site said that the project comes with a lot of advantages to the people of Amuru district.
According to Akol, besides providing job opportunities, the project will also enhance development in the district.
He appealed to district leaders to look at the project objectively so that they can appreciated the good in it.
Meanwhile, the director Public relations and corporate affairs at Atiak Sugar, Benson Ongom said that this time round, top in their agenda is community engagement and enhancing team work to ensure that all stakeholders are brought on board in ensuring success of the project.
Meanwhile, Amuru district LCV chairperson, Michael Lakony appealed to management of Atiak Sugar to work hard to restore trust in the company.
Atiak Sugar which is a project under Horyal Investments will be signing a new memorandum of understanding with Amuru district to clearly define how the two parties will work together to ensure success of the investment.
