At least 7 groups and 3 bee farmers received apiary supplies on Wednesday 24th August 2023.
The supplies received include sprayers, KTB hives, harvest knives, herbicides, harvesting bucket and bee smokers.
The Amuru district entomologist, Mr. Acaye Genesis who mobilized the groups and individual farmers said that he selected farmers that already have experience in apiary to ensure effectiveness in use of the supplies.
He expressed confidence in the team that received the supplies, saying that they will be put to good use.
Amuru deputy chief administrative officer, Mr. Opio John Bosco while addressing the beneficiaries said that bee keeping is a lucrative business if the farmers take it seriously.
He appealed to the entomologist to mentor the farmers and follow them up to ensure value for money for the supplies distributed.
Meanwhile, Amuru district vice chairperson while handing over the supplies to the beneficiaries appealed to them to be exemplary and use the equipment received correctly.
